nVidia Tesla for F@H?

These look interesting: http://www.nvidia.com/object/tesla_computing_solutions.html Maybe they could be utilized with F@H, too? If I have understood correctly they are pretty much like GPUs and thus with proper drivers would be pretty good for folding. But then again I understand very little about t...

One day I was a little bored and started to browse the pictures on NASA's website, NASA's own pictures proved that the landings were a HOAX. However a HOAX as elaborate as the moon landings gains my acceptance as it is just propoganda, thousands of people didnt die. Would you mind pointing us to th...

Metallic aluminium does not burn, it simply melts. Very finely divided/powdered aluminium can auto-ignite
Yeah, I know. Thats what I meant when I said that there should/could have been plenty of pulverized aluminium around.

About the molten steel: I just pulled this out of thin air, but would it be possible for burning aluminium to melt steel? I'm too lazy to look this up, but I bet that burning Al could do it. The plane was almost completely made of Al so there would have been plenty of pulverized aluminium around to ...

There was just the one question about large work units. Is that correct? How much does this increase the memory demands of the app? I recently upgraded to 1GB so I should be OK in any case. Dunno if this helps or not, but at the moment my both FahCore_78 processes use 107 mb of memory. I think I've...

Right now I'm looking at a coca-cola bottle and trying to decide whether it is half full or half empty.

It's propably half empty and I need to get another one.

A little bit earlier I was looking at a PDS model of a shale oil refinery or what ever it is in english.

I'm using Zalman WB3-Gold, GWB2, NWB1 and Eheim 1250 inside a P180. The water is then cooled with five Innovatek Konvekt-O-Matic PRO LC profiles bolted to the side of the case.

This might not be a perfect system, but it works well and is very, very quiet.

New box for folding

It's time for a new box again and I'd like to hear some recommendations about which way to go. So far I've been thinking of these two setups: 2x AMD Opteron 244 (468€) K8T Master2-FAR (~200€) 2Gb 400 MHz DDR (~200) total: 868€ or: 2x Intel Xeon 2.8GHz DP (FCBGA), 800MHz FSB, 1MB cache. (~450€) Asus ...

My laptop (A64 3000+) folds every now and then and in the coming days I'll get one MacMini folding 24/7. Dunno if it's any good, though.

So, not all that much firepower here.
