My resently bought Asus P4P800 Dlx is giving me problems so I am going to exchange it for another board.
Whichboard would u guys recommed ???

Intel D875PEBZ ?

What is it that you want/need? The above is a high-end board, with S-ATA, RAID and the works.

Question is what you want/need here, really .

D875PBZ lacks onboard audio though - not an issue if you're using Audigy or ENVY, nasty surprise otherwise. Otherwise, it's an excellent board - light on tweaking (as all Intel boards are) but with absolute tank-like stability.

I'm happy with mine, what sort of problems you having?

BTW, the ABIT IS7 (865PE) and IC7(875) boards are also highly regarded, but come with active NB cooler that you'll wan to swap out.

Addendum on the Intel D875PBZ - it's got a fully passive NB. One of the reasons I favour it (personally) .

I read the responses at the provided link and think the advice given was valid. I also agree that it is very unlikely that you've gotten three identically malfunctioning motherboards in a row.

Start by connecting only video, CPU, RAM & power. Disconnect any USB devices headers, PCI cards etc. You should be able to boot to BIOS. If so, load & save default settings. Now, install your Hard drive, but use the onboard chipset EIDE controller. Do not use the pci EIDE controller. Performance will be the same or better using the chipset EIDE controller. See if your PC now boots. If so, start connecting other devices one at a time, checking for stable operation. If not, connect your optical drive and reinstall windows once again. May not be necessary, but I suggest deleting & recreating the primary partition & doing a full format of that partition. Good luck

bomba- I am doing a full install on a new formatted HD and I am getting that balck screen. The only things that are connceted are the HD(connected directly), cpu, mobo, ram, dvd, and floppy.

I agree with the guy that was helping you at Techguy. 1) It's not the mobo. Three out of three "bad" ones with the exact same problem is nearly impossible. 2) Ditch the controller card and plug the HDD directly into the IDE port. 3) Using the OS install disk, blow out any and all partitions and reformat the drive, only after you have it hooked up directly to the mobo's IDE channel. 4) Do like bomba suggests and try the OS install with an absolutely minimal config, including only one stick of RAM. You may as well run Memtest86 on your memory before you try installing the OS again.

Did all of these already Ralf and I am trying it using anoter HD now (directly conceted) with min config.
Will let u know what happens.

I just tried it using another hd, I get the same results.
If I take another computers HD and plug it in(windows installed) it will boot just fine.

I think Windows never finishes the installation because if I restart t will come to the scrren wher u can choose start in safe mode and stuff but u can't go in because installation is not complete.

I tried it using another windows cd and it magically worked.
I know my other one also works but didn't work with that mobo 4 some reason.
