Yeah, sure thing! I've just made another 50$USD on the latter update...
Of course if i win I'll be happy, the Q9650 that is... i don't mind the others wages. If not, it's the same for me as longer as SPCR got the new testing chamber.
And yeah, welcome Life Time Patronime!

Much thanks to all the generous contributors who helped raise $11,100 over the past 27 days. The outpouring of support for SPCR has been stupendous. My hats off to you all.

Now, it's time to tell you about the giveaway draw that took place a few minutes ago. There were 150 qualified candidates fielding 235 "entries", each assigned a number. A random number generator was used to pick the prize winners. Some of the entries were people who had contributed a second or third time and thus qualified for this draw.

Amazingly, one winner from the first draw a couple weeks ago was picked again, not once, but twice. I made the decision to throw the dice again the second time she was picked since it seemed unfair to others for her to win three prizes, but Amy, if you're a lotto buyer, just go get a few today!

Congratulations to the prize winners. You will be contacted within 24 hours about delivery details.

This is great! I don't know if I'm happier for the winners or for SPCR!!! I am truly looking forward to seeing the build log for the new chamber, as well as the forthcoming reviews which utilize it.

Thanks to SPCR for the logos I just received (they're DAMN nice!), as well as the AMD processor. I can't figure out what I'm going to build with the CPU, though! The PSU or cases probably would've found quicker usage in my house. Anyone wanna trade? LOL!

Sure, but if that worked for me do you think I'd have time from permanent vacation to be reading spcr?

Congrats to all the winners and SPCR for reaching (and exceeding!) the goal so quickly. Can't wait to read the build logs for the new anechoic chamber. :)

Mebbe not, but before you disappear into the blue yonder we'd expect at least a 10% commission/tip towards SPCR. ;)

Unless there is another "Kurt M.", I think I'm going to be really really looking forward to checking my e-mail tonight! :D (stupid web blockers!)

I'm happy to see SPCR is going "all in" and raising the bar again for hardware reviewers and that there are others out there who appreciate it.

Every case, hdd, psu, and fan I buy has to pass the SPCR standard!

Funny.. the AMD CPU would have been of more use to me than the Corsair VX450W I won, even though I do appreciate it a lot.
Unfortunately, the two prizes are not really in the same league.

Didn't get anything, but I'm happy my donation is going to a good website with very high testing standards. I look forward to new reviews with your upgraded equipment. :D

True, but it's a matter of "needs". I think it's awesome I won the Phenom, but, in order to use it, I'd need to purchase a mobo, memory, and case. I already have an old Intel box that could use a new PSU, though. I actually got an offer from Brent to trade for the Enermax and took him up on it. As Brent learned, it never hurts to ask!

Glad you exceeded your target, MikeC. SPCR has helped me many times over the past few years so I was glad to help :-)

congrats to the winners and bugger I didn't win again :)

I think everyone, winners or not, should feel very proud of what they've contributed to. The fact that so many other tech sites now include (admittedly half baked) sound measurements to their reviews shows what an impact SPCR is having!

Bummer, didn't win.
Grats to the winners, though. And hope my donation--although small--is worth something.

Just wanted to say THANKS to the site and the sponsors! I received my prize very quickly after the drawing, but didn't have time to post until now.

SPCR is now a more regular stop for me. Keep those awesome reviews coming!

Also... keep us posted on the chamber progress. How about a blog/sticky in one of the forums to keep us all updated?

WOW! Talk about "ask, and you shall receive!" Thanks, Mike! I'm sure quite a few people will be interested to hear and see the progress.

Let the construction begin

I would love to see the location and room layout. The more info the better. I hope you are setting up a camera to take photos daily to show the progress of the construction.

Hey, I was just curious if everyone has received their prizes? I have a feeling someone else may have received a free power supply if my Paypal home address was used; versus the one provided. Ah well. Heh. That's what I get for moving!

Nice job on the soundproofing, good to see SPCR is taking there job ceriusly :D

Even do this is a done project i have a tip for people how want to make a silent room the cheap way.
That will also work for a dedicated A/V room.

My friend how plays drums in our band needed a soundproof room to practice in

The way we did it was that we put up a steal frame and suspended sandbags on it and the made a inner wall of gypsum plates.
The walls ware a bout 14cm (+5")thick, the floor was about 13cm (5") thick, and the sealing was about 20cm 8" thick.

After we ware done he could play all night without any of the neighbors complaining even at night, ware he self needed to use earplugs.

Image[/img]

If more dampening is needed, the walls and sealing could be covert by for example Tyrotex, and the floor could be covered by thick carped

Building cost was about $3000
