Thoughts on Jonsbo RM3

Post by Smanci » Fri Jun 03, 2016 11:37 pm

This will likely be my next case as we start getting them in Europe. Looks like it'll do fine, or at least much better than the Jonsbo U2, in a quiet somewhat low power setup.
What really caught my eye is the overall sturdiness and materials. I don't think I've ever seen 4mm think aluminum or 5mm tempered glass being used in a case. Or glass panels on both sides. Aluminum cases with internal steel structure don't seem too common, either.
What are your thoughts, especially on those glass panels and structure in general?

Material:
Internal Structure: 1.0mm SGCC Steel Plate
Front Plate: 4.0mm Aluminum
Side Plates: 5.0mm Tempered Glass Side Plate
Back/Top/Bottom Plate: 1.5+2.0mm Aluminum

I love the design, especially the small size for mATX and the tower form factor. I considered purchasing it, but ultimately didn't because of cost to import to USA and primarily poor airflow concerns. The glass is very pretty and I would no doubt find a way to break it.

Looking at the limited fan intakes I just don't see how this case can be cooled quietly, but would like to hear from someone who has tried with a real build.

Well, it's definitely insufficient for something like quiet dual 980Tis but coming from a case with one exhaust fan, this is a huge upgrade
Looks like it'll perform better than for example the SPCR test system? Less restrictive and the bottom fan blows directly onto the GPU.

Does it have a window on both sides?
