Case for gaming PC, Silent but cool

Post by lanzia » Mon Sep 05, 2016 9:13 am

Hello all,

I will be ordering my new parts soon but I'm still looking for a case.

I'm after a silent case witch still has a good airflow to keep temps under control.
I prefer a big case, not that I have 20 HD's but I think it looks better under my desk (will be replacing my old Corsair Obsidian 750D).
A Windows is no issue but I prefer a closed side panel. I'm not looking for something that looks like a space shuttle (something plain like 750D is fine)
I will be aircooling CPU with a Noctua and using a single GTX 1080.
It would be great to have all brackets with rubber for disks, good/solid easy to remove dust filters all over, good cable management and all the goodies :)

I don't know if the beter cases come with enough fans to keep things cool and if the fans are good quality and silent.
If not I liek recommendations on this aswell.

I hope you guys can advise.
Please let me know if more info is needed.

Thanks

Alex

R5 user here.
6700k / single GTX1070 setup, couldn't be more happy.
Also used it for a NAS setup for a while: 2x 3,5 HDD, one of them not so silent, never heard a thing of the disks.

R5 comes with one intake fan only, I would recommend startig from there and add a third fan if you feel the need.

Corsair 600Q user here.
6700k / single GTX1070 setup, couldn't be more happy.
Limited support for mechanical hard drives but I went all SSD so that wasn't a concern of mine.

600Q comes with two fans installed (one intake, one exhaust) and a third fan in the package. I did not like the sound of the fans though so ended up replacing them all with Fractal Venturi HP-14 fans.

There's also the Fractal Define S if you don't need an Optical drive.
