Need ideas/suggestion

On how to keep my PC quiet. I plan to use an open case (i.e. http://www.svc.com/tech14x8-blk.html ) and a raptor HDD.

I'll be getting a custom desk (I draw it in UED, my brother builds it.) and my "apartment" will be 16ftx36ft. I figured I'd keep the desk about 2 foot off the wall and put something similar to a bird cage around the computer case, to keep the dog out. Then put the case behind the desk, and something like a matress between the desk and the case to keep the sound minimal. (Not around the case, just between it and me.)

But I would certainly appreciate if anyone has a better idea, because I doubt if the matress & spacing would world well. Thanks.

In open air, that raptor will be extremely noticeable during seeks, even suspended. I'd recommend finding a smartdrive, or SOMETHING, to put it inside, to dampen the noise. Make sure what you use is rated for 15k drives though, the raptor definitely gets warm if you dont get airflow over it, so the box needs to be able dump the heat well.

I'm sure someone will chime in with a suggestion here in a bit...
