too much noise from nvidia Quadro FX

Post by volvo945 » Wed Aug 22, 2007 1:26 pm

my boss got me a new Dell last week. He is prone to overkill. I'm not a "gamer", but I have this high end card regardless. It runs a Dell 30" monitor.

It is nvidia Quadro FX 3450. The cooling fan on it sounds like a buzz saw. I don't think I can stand it. What are my options? Or is it possible the unit is defective?

Constructive replies are appreciated!
TIA

While it is hig end that isn't a gaming card, it's a high end workstation card. And yes I have noticed the Quadro's cooling tend to be a bit noisier than the mainstream cards. You could always change the cooling as with any card but considering what high end Quadros usually cost ($1000-1300 here) I might wait till after the warranty expires.

Hi, I met exactly the same problem. Would you please share me how did you fix it?
