300W is not true. Its more like 110W according to wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_8_Series#8800_GTS

Try searching the forums for something like passive AND 8800 and see if someone else has a similar setup with a passive 8800 card.

Edit: The Noctua fan your linking to is a low pressure fan that work poorly when attached to a heatsink.

If you really think you need a fan you should probably just go with a Slipstream.

ok thx, just looked at dB and airflow :). Maybe those are better for front and back and then 1 Slip Stream for my Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme? Or am i thinking completely wrong now? :P

If I'm believing google they all recommend a fan because the 8800 series have a very high level of heat dissipation. So I think I need a 92mm fan :)

maybe the best is now:
-2 Noctua NF-S12 (1200RPM) @ 600RPM (1 front, 1 back)
-1 Noctua NF-P12 (1300RPM) @ 900RPM (Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme)
-Thermalright HR-03 PLUS
-Scythe Minebea Silent IC Case Fan 9cm Low (1400RPM) @ 1400RPM (Thermalright HR-03 PLUS)

Hopefully I'm right.

Have some patience

I would do it like this:

2*120mm Slipstream 800 @ 800 (in/out)
1*120mm Slipstream 1200 @ PWM or manual control (Thermalright UE)
1*Scythe Minebea Silent IC Case Fan 9cm Low 1400 @ ~800 (Thermalright HR-03 PLUS)

Sorry but i'm pushing F5 50 times a day :P

Why do you prefer the Slipstream and not the Noctua. Or if I look at the dB the Noctua is quieter. You think the Minebea Silent IC Case fan 92mm is the quietest fan? Was just searching for a few fans and because Sychte is good I thought that that fan is also good then :P

He he no problemo dude :P

The Noctua NF-S12 only works well when theres nothing near it (fangrill, heatsink, etc.).

The NF-P12 should be good but i havent heard a whole lot about them. Try searching the forums for them. They must be mentioned several times here.

Dont know about the Minebea. Maybe a Nexus. I recommend another forums search here :)

Destroyertje, see this page for some spcr recommended fans.

The Noctua is very good, but not on a heatsink (like on a Arctic Accelero S1). I think you're from Holland, and Noctua's are quite expensive here. You could also buy some Nexus fans. Those also are excellent fans and a third of the price of a Noctua.

Furthermore, don't look at dBA at the manufacturers website. They mostly aren't right. They try to make it seem better than it is. Spcr has tested many fans (including dBA measurements) and those are objective, so take a look at those (afore mentiond link..)
And Zalman, as mentioned before, isn't a very popular manufacturer here. Their fans are supposed to be quiet, but aren't.

thx for that link :) (and yes i'm from holland :P)

If I use the table then I get this:

-2 Noctua NF-S12 (1200RPM) (120mm) @ 600RPM (1 front, 1 back)
-1 Nexus Real Silent Case Fan D12SL-12 (120mm) (1000RPM) @ +/-900RPM (Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme)
-Thermalright HR-03 PLUS
-Nexus Real Silent Case Fan DF1209SL-3 (92mm) (1500RPM) @ +/-1000RPM (Thermalright HR-03 PLUS)

Something like this?

Looks pretty good but i would drop the RPM on the 92 Nexus to ~800.
