Post by outoftune » Wed Nov 22, 2006 2:33 pm

i just bought the intellimouse explorer 3.0 and my scroll whell is really loud and clunky. its even louder than my generic HP mouse. Is this just a problem with my mouse or is it all intellimouses?

yeah i think it might be the gaming version. its the same as the one here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouse ... px?pid=087

maybe they are all like this, i just wasnt sure if it is defective or not.

everything else about the mouse is great...i think i am just going to have to increase the number of lines it scrolls so i dont need to click the wheel as much.

My wired 3.0 was very quiet.

My wireless 2.0 is inaudible 8) , however the thumb buttons are in a less comfortable position... :(

My Microsoft "blue" mouse has a very noisy scroll wheel. It sounds like a bucket of bolts, but it works. I think the clicking is to provide tactile feedback for when you have moved the scroll wheel one unit.

Had my wired InteliMouse Explorer 3.0 for 3 years and the scroll wheel has been clunky from new. Very well built mouse, which feels as good as the day I bought it, and that includes the scroll wheel, but the action isn’t what you’d call ‘refined’. I’ve had much cheaper mice with much smoother scroll wheels.
