Quick poll - I have the aforementiond GPU and plan to upgrade the mobo. I'm asking about the lowest PCI-e slot because I will need both PCIs for music and WiFi cards.

Did it work? (I presume you've done something by now)

If you're still waiting you could just try it. Since wifi cards are quite cheap nowadays unless you've got some sort of super card why not just get a PCIe one and sell the PCI one if it doesn't work? For that matter, unless you mean a midi card you could easily replace the sound card with a decent or better PCIe one but unless the PCI card is a POS this would probably be more expensive then the wifi card route.

You're right, I have overcome this problem : ) All it needed was finding a PCI-e x1 wifi card! now GPU occupies the first PCI-E slot, sound card is in 2nd PCI, wifi will be in PCI-E x1 and it's all nice & neat : D

Most pro music cards are still on PCI. I'm not taking into account Sound Blaster X-Fi's though, because they are aimed primarily at gamers and home cinema systems, not audiophile market.

I don't know what do you mean by POS, could you explain?
