750ti has max TDP of 60 watts and R9 280x has max TDP of 250 watts. 280x kills the 750ti in every way shape and form so nothing groundbreaking here.

Palit KalmX is a great fanless GTX-750 card. I bought it some weeks ago and have been happy with it.

My EVGA base clocked 750 Ti is cooled very well with an Accelero S1 Plus. I've never seen temps above 65ºC with a single 140mm fan in my case. It's a good product consider against the mk-26, especially if you have front to back airflow like I do in my case.

So, I never got around to modding a resistor into the fan wire of my Palit StormX Dual, mostly because I was a bit afraid to try it, but I still wasn't happy with the noise, particularly on idle.

Lo and behold, there's another way to silence our cards: mod the bios.

The result is that the fans are now stopped below 55 C and slowly start to spin up afterwards. My card is about 26 C on idle, and goes to 61 C under full load (furmark/heaven) with the fan at about 40%. This is in a well-ventilated case with 21 C ambient. It actually takes a fairly heavy load for a while to reach > 55 C, which means it'll only spin up while running 3D games so far. Watching videos and playing light games etc all stay silent.
