Quiet and CoolVideo Card for One 2560x1600 and Two 1200x1600

Looking for a cool & quiet card for research and writing mostly (PhD student). I will have several documents open at once which require this setup.

1 x Dell 30" U3014 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824260132)
2 x Dell 20" 2007FP (http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Ultrasharp-1 ... B000UVDONY)

Heat and power draw are my main concerns, hence my appearance here on this forum.

Secondary uses will be image editing and video editing.

A distant possibility might be gaming, but if so, I would expect to do so on the middle monitor only.

Thanks!

Welcome to SPCR.

What's the current PC?
- make / model (if an OEM PC), CPU, mobo and case (if home built), PSU wattage (and model if home built).

Your three use cases may drive to three different classes of gfx cards :)

- driving a second or third monitor doesn't take much. A $50 passive card can handle that (GT 720/730).
- photo and video editing s/w (Adobe, for example) may use the gfx card to accelerate display functions..but it doesn't take a lot of gfx horsepower for this. Your iGP might be good enough. A $100-130 gaming card certainly would (GTX 750 class).
- video games opens up a new set of questions. What games? For 1600p, do you want to play with maxed out quality levels or willing to dial it back? $180 - $650 card (GTX 960 - GTX 980 Ti).

I think Steve nail the advise, so im just going to suggest for the future consider a 34'' 21:9 monitor, they are really nice for having multiple docs at the same time, with it you avoid totally the bezels =)
