Nvidia Titan X (2016) / GTX 1080Ti (Pascal GP102) is out

They make noise, too.

It should land close to double of the GTX1080.... but im wondering about the thermals and the noise it might put out, probably will see the same GPU with 8gb as the GTX1080Ti around years end, again worried about the temps and noise, but will see.

Only +20% - 30% faster than GTX1080 (OCed or default clocks) at 1440p or 4K.
Insanely bad Founder's edition cooler that stays 30dBA at idle, 40dBA at load and the card thermally throttles clocks down at load
No custom models coming (only aftermarket coolers, if any, and none have been announced yet for Pascal Titan X that I know of)

I think it's a silly card. Not for SilentPC enthusiasts.

It has terrible compute scores. they hobbled it so regular users cannot use it for scientific computing. Have to buy the original Pascal card. Thieves.

Personally i dont mind, i see GPUs for what they were meant to be graphics cards, side computing while its a great thing, it should be a complementary asset, but we all have different needs, so that just my POV.

Btw are Quaddro/FirePro cards better in scientific computing?

an RX 480 is better for computing 64/16 things than a GTX 1080. "double precision"

It should not be. The 1070 and up should blow away the RX 480, but nvidia purposefully spent money on and redesigned the chip so that a user had to buy the inflated price card. That is how nvidia works, always works, just tries to get an edge and be best for the 1-2 years before forcing a refresh, or hobbling somehow.

nvidia is very "halo" and carrot-and-stick in their treatment of consumers.
