Good News on Arctic-Cooling VGA Silencer

Post by wgragg » Wed Dec 03, 2003 7:04 am

On a whim, I sent a polite, but frustrated email to Arctic-Cooling yesterday. I essentially asked them to increase the number of US distributors and make the product more available here. I received a response this morning from Scythe-USA.

************************************************************
Dear Mr. Mr. Gragg,

Greetings from Scythe. Hope this message finds you well.

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Hiro @ Scythe USA, Inc.
Scythe USA, Inc., is a new distributor for arctic-cooling in the US/Canadian market.

We have received your message below from arctic-cooling in regards to their VGA Silencer. We are in the process to distribute this item to resellers throughout the US at this moment, and it would take another 1-2 weeks before online retailers/retail shops start carrying the product.

***************************************************************

He went on to say that the expected ship date to retail outlets is about Dec 9th or 10th. I know we will still have to wait, but at least things are looking up for it.

I was impressed with this place. I have sent him several emails this morning about this and he responds very quickly.

Will post again if there is any other news.

Wendell

Looks like maybe the folks that want these might be getting a nice present just in time for Christmas!

Any word if the coolers they are shipping are the "rev 2"? Rumored to work with the AIW cards?

Hmm, didn't think to ask that. I'll try to find out which revision.

I emailed the distributor and asked him about the revision. Here is his reply:

Dear Mr. Gragg,

Thank you for your message, and glad to hear from you.

To answer your question, the stocks we have is the original version (the same version as it was reviewed at Silent PC Review). I understand that many people are looking for the revision 2. I shall get in touch with arctic-cooling to find out how soon they can ship the revision 2.

I know it isn't very good news for you, but if he does find out anything, I will let you know.

Wendell
