Passive VGA cooling in a SFF

Post by kojak71 » Tue Feb 24, 2004 6:42 am

I've got a GeForce4 from Leadtek (which has the massive aluminium heatsink on it). I used to run it with the VGA fans disconnected in my midi PC case with no problems. I wanted to know if anyone had experience of doing the same in a SFF system (Soltek Intel865 based). My concerns that there might not be sufficent airflow in the SFF. The system is (at the moment) meant as a portable gaming rig.

I bought a Thermatake G4 silencer kit for this purpose, but the noise is deafening. Whoever marketed it needs to be shot, because it's generating about 80% of the noise of the system.
