Could be fanless, but I see no clear pictures of its insides.

what alerted me: discussion at the very end of this video: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7004/giga ... neup-video

Ah, well. Thanks for finding that. Doesn't look too promising noisewise. Is the mobo a standard form factor or Gigabyte's invention?

It's not a form factor we've seen many cases being made for in retail channels anyway.

It's hard to be fanless AND small with mainstream CPU.

I am very interested in how silent this is. Also, there are a few cases being made by third parties for this new "NUC" sized mainboard. Forget who, Silverstone maybe?

I want the 65 watt Haswell version :)

The Core i3 BRIX is starting to appear in retail channels.

Newegg has model# GB-XM12-3227 for $299 (+ shipping)

It's $10 more than the Core i3 NUC, but that buys you
  • a slightly faster CPU
  • HDMI + mini display port instead of dual HDMI
  • the power cable!
  • USB 3 (2 ports)
  • mini PCIe WIFI adapter
CPU = Core i3-3227U (ark.intel.com)
