Best barebone system ever, Intel Compute
Intel Compute Stick.
However, I can't find the exact specifications.
From visual inspection alone how would you connect keyboard, mouse, headphones, external hDD like WD Elements to do all the non-gaming activity like MS Office, browsing, watching movies and youtube videos..

NUC suddenly looks massive.

Assuming you can do all that with it, the USB ports on the side.antiatavist wrote:Intel Compute Stick.

You'll need a USB hub anyway to power it, so you can use that to connect your peripherals.antiatavist wrote:From visual inspection alone how would you connect keyboard, mouse, headphones, external hDD like WD Elements to do all the non-gaming activity like MS Office, browsing, watching movies and youtube videos..

According to Ars:Quad-core Bay Trail Atom Z3735F, Bluetooth 4.0, and 2.4GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi. Two different flavors: a Windows 8.1 version with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage for $149, and a Linux version with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage for around $89.
Since it plugs into the friggin' TV, I wonder if Intel will get around to updating their driver to enable bitstreamed audio over HDMI in Windows.

This is really the way of the future, forget about specialized media PCs. Just plug in your 4TB WD Elements drive and there you go...
Plus there are really some outstanding games that don't require big power, like Puzzle Quest 2.

I was thinking this was going to be really nice until I read this review:

They stuck a tiny little fan in there!

There are vents on the top, left, and right sides of the Compute Stick, and if you place your hand over the smaller vent in the top while the system is running, you may feel a warm gust of air since there’s a tiny fan inside the case which helps keep the system from overheating.
The fan is pretty quiet, but it does make a high-pitched whirring sound which you can hear in an otherwise quiet room, or when you put your ear near the Compute Stick. Even with the fan, the little computer can get warm to the touch.
