Uneec Fur Fusion - small quiet athlon/P4

Post by the_smell » Mon Dec 08, 2003 1:02 pm

I've just found out about this shuttle clone called the Fur Fusion, it's made by uneec (?)
http://www.uneec.com/en/
It's cooled by a single 92mm fan (CPU, PSU and all) so it might be possible to get a quiet athlon or P4 system. Kustompcs are already stocking them in the UK, it's a pitty they don't quite look as good as some other minipcs - I'm not a fan of the corrugated iron look

I appoligise if this old news

Happy quietening :)

The Soho model looks reasonable - I see what you mean by the "corrugated iron" feel but I think it looks OK, if a little retro (a bit like some the more crazy MP3 and Minidisc players that have popped out of Japan in the past couple of years).

The Game model looks like it's built out of Lego or something though - not sure if the soho is really the same and it's just a trick of the photos.

Do both have 92mm fans? For some reason, the spec sheets appear as tiny JPGs for me(?).

Even with a 92mm case fan, don't you still have the problem of a 40mm PSU exhaust to deal with? :?

Can't help but think that this is just Chenming jumping on the SFF bandwagon... any reviews about?

Hi Lifecylce,

If you look at the specs at Kustompcs things are a bit clearer (why is it so many manufacturer's sites are rubbish!? )...
Athlon system:
http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=1447
P4 system:
http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=1446

Both have a single 90mm fan (I assume they mean 92!?) that takes care of all the cooling - PSU incuded so no winey 40mm fans! :D

I found one review by searching on google for Fur Fusion review,
http://www.walibe.com/reviews-17.htm
they seem pretty positive. This may not be just another shuttle clone. In my opinion it's a step in the right direction!
