Shuttle ZEN ST62K review

Has an exteral laptop-style power supply.

The review claims around 43dbA which far from being quiet is still a lot better than most comparable SFF PC's. Good potential for replacing/undervolting the CPU fan and going very quiet. No AGP though.

though the reviewer is obviously an OC'er... he keeps criticizing anything that can't be souped up to run the newest games at 1000 fps.

this box has a lot of quiet potential... looks like you could replace the single fan for a quieter one and have a great system. i love the fanless external power brick. if any SPCR's get one i'm sure we'd all love a review by a silent-minded user.

The really interesting part from that review is this (emphasis mine):

Most of the ST62K's BIOS tweaking options are conveniently located on one page. Users can increase the front side bus by up to 15MHz above default in 1MHz increments and set the processor voltage between 0.8250 and 1.5875V in 0.025V increments, but that's about it as far as overclocking features go.

Can anyone confirm this, either from other reviews, personal experience, or contact with the manufacturer? Having full control over this range would be really fantastic, although even at 0.825V (and whatever FSB speed you could manage-- probably 533, since there's no PCI lock) you'd probably still need a fan (to move air off the NB heatsink and hard drive if nothing else).

As long as it is over around 1GHz speed is not an issue for me. Noice and heat generation is however. What would be best choice of processor in that aspect for this system, Celeron or p4?
