New old waterblocks

Post by JaRoD » Mon Nov 11, 2013 8:59 am

So, I've managed to find brand new zalman 8800GT/GTS and 3850/3870 waterblocks for stupidly cheap so had to buy one of each. Anyone have any idea if either would fit on my amd 7950? Or if anyone can suggest any other use for them? Hang them on a wall for decoration? I dunno :roll:

I can even get more of them if I wanted to...

//edit

Exact product codes are:

ZM-GWB3850/3870
ZM-GWB8800-GT/GTS-G92

Incase anyone wants too see exactly what they are.

Doh! cooler mounting holes have been move out 1mm on 7950 cards compared to previous generations...

1mm... Surely you could use a drill press with the right bit and enlarge the mounting holes just a bit to make them fit?

hmm, not sure if that would work or not. And I haven't checked if the blocks would work with regards to other components on the 7950. And since I currently have an accelero extreme on, it's a bit much work to remove it and put it back on to see if the waterblock would fit... I'll keep pondering and see what eventually pops out of my head if anything. Might just be easier to get a proper block if I want to watercool it.
