Fractal Design Define Nano S Mini ITX Desktop Case

Asus ROG STRIX Z390-I GAMING Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard

Intel Core i7-9700F

EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB XC GAMING Video Card

Noctua NH-L9x65 33.84 CFM CPU Cooler

G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2666 Memory

Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD

Crucial MX500 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive

SeaSonic PRIME Ultra Platinum 650 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

LG 32GK650F-B 32.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor

I am thinking about a slightly larger case that would support the "Ultra" card (3-slot) that is supposed to be quieter.

we wanted a smaller build if possible, sort of lost on case ideas.

I would suggest a tower CPU cooler. That case allows a 160mm cooler so all but the very biggest tower coolers will fit.

I ended going like this:

I had some help on the parts, the first recommendation was for the Scythe Mugen 5 Rev B cooler and that backplate didn't work with the ASRock board. I ended up with Noctua that worked perfectly. Brother-in-law is happy with the machine, really came out great.

I was shocked at how silent it was. even with the video card fans running about 1300rpm was almost inaudible. I set the hardware switch to silent mode, fans 0 rpm most of the time.

Noctua:

getting ready for a new box for myself, not sure if AMD or Intel. I am not gaming, would be different. maybe wait for 10th gen Intel and try to learn about the AMD stuff.

thanks

While i see your point, and would be optimal if it didnt touch, the bottom is rubber, mine has been running for 6 months no issues.

It all worked out in the end, took 5 days to get the Noctua.

Thank you again, for all the help.
