PWM temps

Post by chtudor » Sun Jan 23, 2005 8:34 am

Well, I've finally got the system's noise level where I want it, but I've got a PWM temp issue.

Here's what I'm running:
Abit AS8 MB
P4 Prescott @3.6Ghz (not overclocked)
1Gig (2x512M) Kingston HyperX memory
ATI 9800 pro 256M (ATI Silencer 3)
2x 'Cuda 7200rmp 120G SATA drives
Plextor PX-716A
Sonata case w/acustic foam
Antec Phantom 350
1 120mm Nexus fan

For CPU cooling I'm running a zalman tower (I like the idea of a huge amount of water) a Eheim 1250 pump and a Danger Den TDX 775 block.

Under load (FAH && game du jour) My temps run cpu:55C case:28C PWM:85C

I'm stumped as to what to do about the PWM temps without putting the Nexus NX-3500 PS back in the case as it really was the loudest thing in the beastie. Expecially since the case is nice and cool, it would just be nice to target the actual problem.

Ideas?

I wouldnt worry about it unless it got over 100C. PWMs are rated for 120C.
