Can I use a banis mobile on a s478 P4 motherboard?

In short, no.
Pentium-M will not function on any current P4 motherboard as it is not pin-compatible (physically) and also requires a specialised chipset to operate, so there is no chance of a end-user hack either, sadly.
There are handful of not-too-expensive P-M motherboards although these will not run P4's for similar reasons. You will pay a slight premium for a Pentium-M motherboard but this platform has excellent performance on par with top P4's and A64's with very low power consumption, making it the obvious ideal choice for a silent power system.
Search for Pentium-M on these forums and have a dig around - there is a lot of information available in the archives and people around here who have experience with running Pentium-M's.
