That card is good for its price, but you would have to decrease settings to run some of the latest games. I think the difference between 512mb and 256mb is that the 512mb runs better at high resolutions, so if you have got a big monitor definately go for the 512.

However, if you have got more money, I would personally go for the XFX 7950GT 512mb as it is also completely passive, but can run latest games much better:

Is there even a 512Mb 7600GT available? I couldn't find one for sale at the Egg.

For only a little more than the price of this card, you could get a 256Mb 7900GS, which I think would perform a lot better. More video memory is always a good thing but you will probably get better bang for your buck by stepping up to a faster card. If you are playing at really high resolutions (say higher than 1600x1200, depending on the game), I think the limiting factor will be the speed of the 7600GT and not the extra 256Mb of memory.

That being said the 7600GT is a very good card for the price.

Correct; I don't own one but all the reviews I've read give the 7900GS great bang-for-the-buck ratings. The 7600GT gets good ratings too, but if the difference is only $20 I would think saving up for the 7900GS would be well worth it.

On the other hand, if having a fanless vidcard is important I'm not sure there is a passively cooled 7900GS available (at least in that price range). You would be limited to either a passive 7600GT or a passive Radeon X1650XT, which is about the same price/performance.
