Warning! Seagate 1TB & 1,5TB Click of Death

Post by Deucal » Wed May 26, 2010 11:05 am

The Seagate 1TB and 1,5TB are experiencing a great % of faulty HDDs.
Dubbed the Click of Death due to the clicking sound the drive starts to make a few day's before it dies/becomes useless.

Had this happen to me, fortunately managed to copy everything to a WD 1,5TB before the Seagate one died.

Note, the Toshiba 1,5TB Store ART external USB HDD is a Seagate 1,5TB.

Google "Seagate 1,5TB click of death" if you want more stories.

Edit: Mine started clicking after 8 day's of use.

It's happened to me several times. Drive is still kicking
I do intend on replacing it though...but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
