when you go for the up or right arrow, don't you ever miss and hit page down?
and when you hit up, do you ever miss and hit shift?

well, toshiba and ibm do often have good keyboard design of the up arrow separate from those other keys.. like SHIFT. And I know smaller laptops will often have a cramped keyboard.
obviously there are going to be people with laptops where the up arrow is separated from other keys properly. I'm not asking about that!
