P4 Mobile 2.8Ghz - need opinions

Post by erikm5150 » Fri Jul 15, 2005 2:21 pm

Hello,

i need your opinions on this CPU, coz i have a chance to pick it up.
The seller tells me that my desktop mobo (msi 845GE) will most likely detect the multiplier of this cpu as only 12.

Here are the technical specs from intel:
http://processorfinder.intel.com/script ... spec=sl77n

Specs from intel show the following:
2.8GHZ, 512KB cache, 533 FSB, HT enabled, multiplier 21.

Why would a desktop board detect only a multiplier of 12?
Does anybody here have experience with using P4-M's with 533 FSB in desktop mobos?
Do i have to break the BSEL1 pin on the CPU to get the "real" multiplier of 21?

Thanks in Advance.
