thanks for the code tip!
the nb voltage is adjustable but it seems it isn't linked to the gpu.
i did notice the gpu voltage changing though and after checking it i found it to have 3 power states: 304mhz@0.912v, 608mhz@1.199v and 760mhz@1.274v. from the numbers i could tell that the gpu uses a significant amount of power so i jumped into the bios and underclocked it to 608mhz, what happened after is the interesting part.
for some reason the gpu no longer changes states and stays locked at 608mhz, but more importantly it remains at the lowest voltage of 0.912v!
some results (pico):
Code:
2.8ghz@1.150v 3.6ghz@1.156v
608mhz@0.912v 608mhz@0.912v
idle 24w 27w
occt linpack 48w 55w
occt gpu 51w 55w
ssf4 bench 63w 67w
it seems stable enough, no stressing done yet, too lazy.
it sucks that bios undervolting seems to be uncommon among fm2 motherboards and i sincerely hope that it won't become the trend.
according to some undervolting done by another user on the xbmc forums, an offset of about -0.2v would have worked out pretty well for this processor.
