See title. It's possible. No hardware mods needed. Acrobatics are essential

What I had to do...
1: lose the fan clips. I used a series of zip ties to attach the two fans in push-pull (Scythe Slip Stream 120mm x 25mm fans)
2: be wary of the backplate. there are a lot of bulky circuitry on the back of the motherboard that *will* interfere with the backplate. the backplate will not screw on evenly if you just tighten everything to the max.

regarding clearance: able to clear the VRM daughterboard and normal-profile RAM without a problem.

regarding cooling: in a bitfenix prodigy with the included case fans as intake, I'm getting ~40C on the CPU (i5 2500k non-OC). the heatsink fans are ~500rpm each. not exactly amazing, but seems reasonable given the low RPM of the fans. i will OC and see what I am able to achieve at quiet sound levels.

hope this information helps someone out there.
