Any watt results for a Phenom 9750 125w locked to 1 core?

I was wondering if anyone locked a Phenom 9750 125w CPU down to 1 core and if so, what are the wattage results. I have an MSI 785GTM-E45 with this CPU on it and since it's going to be n HTPC anyways, I figure a single-core won't hurt but with the design flaw of MSI's 3+1 phase voltage circuitry, I'm wondering if locking it down to 1 core will drop the power draw enough to not fry the motherboard.

If the power draw will be low enough with the 9750 running on just a single core, I'll keep it but if no one can say for sure then next week I'll get a Sempron 145 or 150 and see if I can trade the 9750 to someone for a few fans or something.

I've tried looking for power draw results via Google of people locking 125w Phenom's down to 1 or 2 cores but haven't been able to find anything yet so if someone can point me in the right direction for that, it'd be greatly appreciated.
