5 AMD FM2/FM+ within $11

Post by fred9 » Mon Jan 19, 2015 5:58 pm

MB I'm now considering is GA-F2A88X-D3H. Replacing 8 year old one for just general use, no planned gaming or video editing. Newegg has 5 CPU's (APU?) from $89 to $100:
A8 -5600K 3.6GHz - $89
A8 -6600K 3.9 - $95
A8 - 7600 3.1 $98
A8 - 5500 3.2 $99
A10 - 5800 3.8 $100

So which is the best value? I guess my priority is enough power for the next 8 years. It won't be running 24/7.
Thanks

While I'm still interested in any comments, I want to say that I did find the bench marking tool per the url. I will look at the comparisons I just printed out.

If you are not gaming or video editing then none are a good value. A pentium like a G3258 is under $80 and will give you better performance in most cases while using less power.

I concur. You might even go with an i3, for something more likely to last just as long all over again, for barely more than the AMDs.

That said, of those AMDs, the A8-7600 is the best all-around choice.

Yes, I am looking now at an i3.
Thank you for your valued input.
