Corsair HX520 for Athlon XP

My Seasonic SS400FS seems to be dead. I wished to replace it with a corsair hx520w but it has no -5v.

Is the -5v essential for an Athlon XP 2800+ with an ASUS A7n8x-e deluxe?

Thanks

No, -5V is not needed. For the most part, -5V has not been used since the days of ISA slots... very old ISA slots, at that.

If it makes you feel any better, I used to have an Athlon XP 3000+ with an Epox 8RDA+ motherboard (another nForce2 motherboard from around that time). The lack of a -5V rail made no difference at all. :)

At his time S-12 430 works flawless on my A7N8X.

Two AthlonXP systems. One on the same Epox board listed earlier and a XP2500+ OC'd to 3200+. The other a 2600+ at stock speed on an A7N8X-E Deluxe. I'm using a S12-330 in the latter (HTPC), though I've tested with the former on a stress test with no issues.
