Hi all,
Does anyone know how effective innovateks's hd cooler is at decoupling vibrations of the harddisk. It has rubber decoupling between the cooler-harddisk combo and case.
Perhaps someone can tell how it compares to suspending the drive?

The link to tomshardware has a clear picture of the rubber decouling.
Thanks, Marc

Bit of a late reply, but I haven't been into harddrives lately. I ahve 2 Innvovateks cooling my harddrives. The cooling is really good, that's what I bought them for, but the silencing abilities are nothing to write home about. Now I must say that I have a completely insulated case and one of drives is a Barracuda IV, so I didn't hear much of them anyway. But since I use the InnovaHD-o-matics, my second hardrive, a Maxtor, is transmitting a strong humming when idling that makes my case vibrate lightly. This annoys me, but I don't really know that the coolers are to blame for that. So for cooling, take those Innovateks, they work wonderfully, but for noise reduction, well, don't expect miracles.
