Hullo,
A little while ago, relying heavily on advice from this forum, I put together a new computer in a Fractal Design Define R4 case. It's a wonderfully quiet computer, except for the hard drive. I have a WD Red 2 TB drive, and it's giving off a lot of noise and vibration when seeking.
I've seen the page on suspending your hard drive
here, but I just wanted to check in before doing that. Is a distinct sound and vibration normal for a hard drive attached to the drive cage in a Define R4 case? Or is this indicative of a problem with the drive itself? I don't want to silence the symptoms if it means I'm heading for a catastrophic drive failure all unaware.
