CompUSA selling Zalman Flowers as "PC Toys"

Post by Queue » Mon Jan 06, 2003 10:31 am

Wandering through COMPUSA's ever-growing DIY section, I stumbled across a familiar-looking HSF, the flower. The packaging said "PC Toys Quiet Maxx". Upon closer inspection, it is actually a Zalman unit, the word "Zalman" appears on the fins.

Yup noticed the same thing while I was at a CompUSA in the Atlanta area on holiday. Very strange to see it on the wall next to the run of the mill Heatsink/Fan combos......next thing you know we will be able to get the seasonic powersupplies and papst fans there as well.

What's Compusa up to? Are they finally getting the message that
people like to modify/upgrade their compenents? Unfortunately Compusa
is one of the only computer stores around where I live. I'm glad they are finally stocking some components. I think online merchants are taking
a lot of business from them.

www.pctoys.com

They remark a lot of stuff as their brand to sell through retail.

CompUSA has also started carrying cases that do watercooling. Of course, you still have the CompUSA markup.
