Damnit. The capacitators on the nforce2 mobo interfere with the (fairly huge) cooler. I'm obviously not going to bend them (that's the only warranty I don't dare lose ..). Any suggestions or should I just get the SLK800?

If the caps are in the way of the fins, could you not try to trim the fins where they interfere? Just throwing it out there, but I have no idea what tools are need to do that. Dremel maybe?

I have plenty of tools *G* so that's not a problem. I just wonder whether that'll interfere with the overall performance of the sink.

I've often thought of hacking a HS's fins back enough to clear the obstructions. Heck, it's just a bit of metal. Obviously no warranty issues, and you will propably only loose a very few percent. I would cut it back for shure.

Why not just go with the SLK-800 and not mess with anything? Your temps will probably be within a degree or two of the SLK-900 anyway, plus you can save $15.
