different fan for a Hyper 212 Evo?

Post by shunx » Sun Jul 28, 2013 3:49 pm

The stock fan included with the Hyper 212 Evo makes a clicky sound and I wish to swap it. Can anyone recommend the quietest fan they can think of for this heatsink, and any accessories needed to mount it? Thanks.

Mostly from the recommeded list in order of quietness, all these are PWM fans:
Expensive:
Noiseblocker M12-PS this has rubber corners for decoupling
Noctua NF-F12 PWM new version adds some decoupling
Inexpensive:
Scythe Slip Stream 120 PWM
Scythe Glide Stream 120 PWM
Nexus Real Silent PWM 120mm when kept under 900RPM

You need no accessories, put the two struts on the original fan on the new one and clip it on.
