Scythe Mugen 4, Big Shuriken 2 or Cooler Master 212

Post by Boomerang Rapido » Fri Dec 13, 2013 12:31 am

I'm putting together a new system with an i3-4130 could use a little advise on which cooler to get.

I'm looking at Scythe because they seem to offer good value for money.

Alternatively the Cooler Master 212 Evo seems like a really good deal as well. However it seems to be just a bit too tall for the case I'm using (Cooler Master Silencio 352).

Which would you recommend? Is a large tower heatsink necessary for this CPU?

According to Cooler Master the maximum CPU cooler height for the Silencio 352 is 155mm. This would rule out coolers such as the CM 212 Evo and Scythe Mugen 4 but there are other prospects including the Thermalright Macho120 which is 150mm high.

Makes you wonder... why do Cooler Master make an mATX tower case that won't fit a large part of their own tower coolers :?
