...and it looks promising (first reviews I saw on RealHardTechX, in spanish: D9L and U9S).

oh, yes, I really love the new NH-D9L.
There is already an english review here http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/sho ... tua-NH-D9L
I've also read that silentpcreview has got a sample recently, so I suppose a review will be out soon.

I'm especially curious about the effective RAM clearance in case the motherboard does not respect the socket clear distance. Noctua says <30mm tall memories, but that looks to me a bit conservative. What should be the actual space below the tower fins?

We used it in 2 Gaming Build Guides already --

Haven't had it on our HS test rig yet... but here's my impression: It's good for its size, but also is limited by size -- total fin surface area is way smaller than any 120mm fan tower, so... A second fan helps a lot. In smaller tighter spaces, it's very useful, esp. of you want direct exhaust of the heat either to back panel fan/vent or top.

Out of interest, do you think NH-D9L would fit in Lian-Li PC-Q08, or would it be too close for comfort ?
If I remember correctly the clearance onLian-Li is 110m and NH-D9L is just that.
Thinking about upgrading my gaming PC and I have PC-Q08 that I could recycle from HTCP/server duties if I decide to go with mITX.

Just checked & official heatsink clearance seems to be 110mm so it should fit, even if the tips of the heatpipes touch the PSU, which should not be a problem. There's probably a bit of wriggle room in the way the PSU seats.

We did review these coolers btw -- http://www.silentpcreview.com/Noctua_NH ... er_Coolers

Thanks, I think that review was why I started thinking if it'll fit.
I think I'll look at PSU seating when my 'little helper' running around the house is asleep.

Maybe I'm overly cautious but I hate to return stuff just because I didn't do my 'homework' properly.
