New Build No More Macho--Need Suggestions

Post by suchageek » Thu Apr 30, 2015 12:42 pm

Just put together an Asus X99-A board with the i7-5820 and 16GB Cosair Vengeance DDR4 @2666. (Without crazy heat sink fins) The board comes with a built-in back plate so couldn't use my quiet and reliable HR-02 Macho.

Doesn't seem to be a lot available for X99 boards. I have a Fractal R4. Could really use some suggestions. Plan on mild OC.

Thanks in advance!

The mounting for most of the Thermalright for LGA2011 is witout the included backplate, it mounts using the intel socket backplate,

But if you are looking for something else, the consider the Scythe Kotetsu.

Wow, that would be great. I have the older Macho. Not sure if the Rev A works. Will look into it. Thanks!

Not sure if I ever had the 4 screw pillars. I keep everything PC related in case I want to sell it or re-use it, so I will look for them over the weekend.

If you didn't have them or can't find them they are available as a reasonably priced adapter kit from sources such as this one.
