Advice on choose a cooler for a new 7700K system

Post by michal » Mon Jan 16, 2017 10:24 pm

Hi,

I'm in Australia and the range of CPU coolers here is severely limited.

Basically none of the Scythe coolers recommended in the 4k build nor the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo are available here (though there are a bunch of other Coolermaster coolers).

Can you recommend any other similarly quiet, effective and affordable CPU coolers that I MIGHT be able to find?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Michal

EDIT: I have no intention of overclocking, but the ambient temperature here can get VERY high.

EDIT2: I am considering the Noctua NH-D15 as it reviewed well here but it's quite expensive so I'm not so keen on it (http://www.msy.com.au/qld/brendale/cool ... ersal.html).

The Noctua NH-U14S would be a better choice and is $20 cheaper.

Thank you! I'll pick one up today.

Still waiting for the Asus STRIX Z270E Gaming motherboard to come into stock as I will then have everything else.

As an early builder with Kaby Lake, it would be great to get your feedback on the mobo, etc..
