What is a soft material that conducts heat well?

TL;DR - the title. I need to get some material that is both soft (squeezable) and conducts heat as well as possible. Any advice on what it could be?

Longer story - my trusty old laptop (Dell XPS M1330) is still running strong and I like it. But one component is showing age - the cooling... umm... construct. Basically it's a copper heatpipe that runs over 3 chips (CPU, GPU and something from the chipset I think) and connects them to the heatsink and fan. The heatpipe is screwed down and makes contact with the chips through some sort of soft pads. I don't know what material that is, but it's coming apart. I'd like to replace them, but I don't know with what.

One idea would be to use some copper plates instead, but since it's 3 chips then I'm afraid that one of them will invariably have a tiny gap and won't cool. So I want something soft, like Dell itself used. But what?

There's adhesive pads as well. I think you can get stuff like this cheap on eBay.
