Fan noise annoyance

Post by Welsh_Jester » Mon Mar 16, 2015 9:08 pm

I have quite a few Scythe GT AP13 and AP14 fans, they produce motor ticking so i was looking for a fan that is actually quiet at around 1000 rpm or less. So recently i got 2 Noiseblocker NB12-1 (800rpm) fans, they are making some vibration or droning sound and i have them as exhaust.

Has anyone got any suggestions what i can do? I don't want to waste any more money on fans. I really don't know if there is a perfect fan, but both those i mentioned are supposed to be really good with noise.. But from my experience they are most certainly not.

Probably the best fans I've used in terms of noise are the Artic PWM and they're very reasonably priced as well. They're not the best for cooling but I think they're good enough: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002 ... entries*=0

I too found the Scythe fans (both Scythe 120mm SY1225SL12M and 120mm SY1225SL12LM-P PWM) to have an annoying ticking noise at high RPM, which was very disappointing.

I've had a pretty good experience with Scythe fans. But that being said, my only other experience is with stock case fans xD.
