SPCR is 2, 3, 4, 5... now 6 yrs old!

Post by MikeC » Thu Apr 15, 2004 10:36 pm

It actually happened a few weeks ago. So caught up in stuff I kind of forgot. A non-public version of SPCR was first created at the beginning of March 2002. Around April 1, 2002, it officially went live.

I should have written up some kind of piece, but who's got time!?!  Anyway, I'm pleased SPCR has grown and expanded as much as it has, it almost seems to have a life of its own -- certainly these forums do! Thanks everyone, for keeping the place smart and friendly and lively and civil and thought-provoking.

Anyone who joined up back at the beginning and is still visiting, please drop by and say hello. Have a drink on me or something... 8)

Hey, Mike! Congratulations! When I joined I had an impression the site was going on for years! I cannot believe it is just two years old! You have built quite an awesome reputation in these two years. Thanks a lot for the great work and keep it up, please! Cheers!

The only thin I regret about SPRC is finding out about the site after I bought my computer :(
But thanks to SPRC the loud monster I bought is now surpassed in noise by my purring cat :)

Btw I'm going to SPRC's birthtown (Vancouver) this summer, so I might take you up on that drink Mike :P

Wow, 2 years old. I too thought it was much older and i too think it looks much better now than it did then. But no doubt we'll be saying the same thing 2 years from now. :)

Oh and how you've managed to edit your post 2 twice and still not spot it is beyond me! :p

It's great to see how the Silent PC movement has grown over the past 2 years, with more and more mainstream manufacturers taking it seriously and bringing out great quiet products.

Thanks in no small part to Silent PC Review. I think there would be far fewer products aimed at this sector of the market if it wasn't for this place.

Thanks Mike! :D :D

I have hardly found the site for a month!! :D

I had been living with my noisy PC for 2 years... I didn't even know I could make it quieter until I found this site. Really helpful :D

wow, I might have been here two years ago reading up. I'll have to check when my first posting was, I believe I had been looking here a while before I registered to the forum. Hmm I tried looking in the memberlist but it looks like it would take forever to find my name there.

Keep up the cool ('n' quiet...) work everybody, it really is appreciated.
Even if we're too quiet to say anything...

Regards & Thanks
Pete

Congrats SPCR and Mike Chin. Amazing site. I always come here before buying computer gear. Hopefully one day 100% silent PCs will be the norm. If that day ever does come I'm sure we can look back on Mike and his team's work as being a major factor in making happen.

Congrats on your 4th birthday.
One of the most interesting and informative sites on web.
You got me interested in silence and my two silent machines,P180 and P150 are based on info from your site. Also revamped and silenced a few of my friends machines.

Keep up the good work.
