Best DVD Writer (Silent/Quiet)

Post by zoidy » Sat Dec 02, 2006 6:57 am

I've alway's used the Panasonic series, efficient and effective.
But now I have silent on my mind what's the opinion of the silent forum?

Is there software that can slow a "noisy" drive down?

Thoughts please

Although there are differences in noise level, each DVD drive spinning at full speed will be 'way too noisy' to the average SPCR visitor. I never pay attention to which one I get as I only use it to install software or burn a cd / dvd. If there is software that needs the disc in the drive, I'll make an image and mount it with deamon tools. When watching a DVD, you can probably use Nero Drivespeed to slow the drive down to 4x speed making it fairlly quiet and no issue considering you're watching a movie with sound..

Hello,

I like the Sony I have, which is only $30 or so at NewEgg.

My Samsung drive is extremely loud. Fortunately I rarely need to use it. ;-)
