Quiet DVD player (drive) ?
Looked for it here but cant find it...
Advice on a good, quiet DVD player ?
My computer is quiet, but all hell breaks loose when the dvd burner spins up
The drive doesnt need to be fast, just for movie/music playback.
Something that one would find in a normal home-dvd-player ?

There is a free utility, Nero Drivespeed, that can be used to slow down your DVD drive. That should make it quite a bit quieter. I've never used it myself . . .

Re: Quiet DVD player (drive) ?
plextor 760a or 760sa (sata version) is all I have come up with. it is quiet and has plextools for slowing it down. nothing beats my old pioneer which is almost inaudible 2 feet from it.MrBean wrote:Looked for it here but cant find it...

I have an ASUS with "Quiet Track" that is subjectively pretty darn quiet.
