Silent-Server-Rack ?

Post by gregoire.favre » Wed May 01, 2013 2:21 pm

Hello,

what do you think of Keoda's Silent-Server-Rack ?

Would we gain in putting a "normal" PC in such a "noise catcher" box ?

Thank for any thought :)

This thing includes an air-con. How quiet is a rack-sized air-con compared to an ATX-PC?

I guess the good feature with such kind of rack are the two sound traps.

So my guess : it's much quieter than an ATX-PC.
There pdf has some nice explanation...

I wonder if someone has already build a PC using sound trap ?

Very interesting rack solution.

But for home use, unless you were given som rack servers and want to use them, you're better off choosing components for low noise instead.

It's a lot easier (and cheaper) to avoid noise during design/buy phase than it is to try to fix noise issues after the fact.

servers should be in there own room, away from the user.

quiet and affordable PC's can be easily built. i dont see the point.
