Quiet Antec NSK3480 replacement

Post by valnar » Thu Apr 06, 2017 7:00 am

Is there a nice small Micro-ATX case similar to the discontinued Antec NSK3480? It seems Antec doesn't have anything in it's lineup that is just as good, so another manufacturer?

There are similar cases, but most do not have any front drive bays, or have one optical bay. I would recommend Fractal Design - they have several. What size motherboard, and what video are you planning on using?

Basically a similar design, although one external 5.25" would be sufficient. micro-atx board, probably low-powered external video. Nothing hot, heavy for gaming.

The Silverstone KL-06 might be a viable option.

I bought the Fractal Design Core 1100. It was a perfect recommendation. Thanks everyone.

Fractal Design Core 1100 is the best cheap case I've used. But it is a cheap one. The Antec NSK 3480 is much more solid. That said, if it's a simple system it will do the job.

Copy-paste from this thread. :)

Well, I didn't want it THAT cheap. It's for my new main rig. Is there a better one? I haven't received it yet....

Well, the Antec NSK 3480 is 8.1 kg and the Fractal Design Core 1100 is 3.8 kg for one thing. The build quality of the NSK 3480 is very solid. The Core 1100 is like I said not a bad case, but the build quality is not the same.
