Quietest Noctua to go in my D14?

Post by thesmileyone » Thu Dec 27, 2018 1:17 am

So I want to go from passive to air cooled but be as silent as possible. And with Noctua PWM fan.

Noctua NF-A15 PWM seems to be the right one but I am wondering if anything else is better?

Will be using cable ties (gg) until fan mount wires come from Noctua

I only want one fan and will put it in the middle of the D14.

Thanks

The quietest Noctua fan right now is the A12X25. It has roughly the same performance than the A14 PWM but at much lower noise. I don't have the data on the A15 PWM.

Are you sure they won't produce resonance / vibration though mounted onto a heatsink? That test used them free-standing.

I don't own the D14, so I can't test it personally. But since the D14 is compatible with 120mm fan hole I don't see why that would vibrate.
