[Pitched] as a 'Green' & Quiet Workstation - is it?
I came across this article earlier this morning while looking for ideas for workstation, that is powerful yet quiet at the same time. The article author pitches it as both, in addition to being green, by using high-efficiency, low-energy components. It "reads" well to me, but I cannot convince mysel...

What's the state of your CORSAIR 520HX PSU? New? Used? Coil Buzzing? Used for appox 8 months. No buzzing whatsoever. Except for a few small scratches from installation (tight fit) it works perfectly and is most definitely silent . As to why I am selling, I upgraded the rig it was in to a quad core ...

I beg to differ with elemental and Dan's Data :) One needs to do proper loading, several tests on each paste and then calculate results. If you want to shave off the last 1-3 C off your temps, consider the application of the paste & spreading it (e.g. with pressure on the sink, not with your finger...

What is the BEST thermal grease/paste or T.I.M for Air?
I am getting ready to build a couple of new systems for clients and realized out am out of my old trusty Arctic Silver 5. The new systems will be E8400 driven and built around one of the DFI boards. All cooling will be on AIR and I suspect the NB and SB will each need some help as well. Before I go ...

Seagate Cuda IV or Maxtor DiamondMAX Plus 9 (120GB)
I need some more space (gee, imagine that) and I am torn between getting another Maxtor DiamondMAX Plus 9 or a Seagate Baracuda IV. I am trying to make my system more quiet and I am curious which of these two drives you all find the quietest and most reliable. I will not be putting in any sound encl...

Which is quieter? 2 x 80mm or 1 x 120mm???
I am planning a new case for my current rig, one that is quieter than the Antec SX630 I currently have (plus I need more space). The SX630 has been modded to accept a Panaflo L1A 120mm intake and a Panaflo M1A 92mm exhaust. It is quiet, but I think I can do better. I am considering either of the fol...

Couple of Questions
Hi all, Been lucking here since the beginning. Finally have the money to do some of the projects I envisioned for my rig. Before going forward, I do have a few questions: 1) When isolating my fans, does it matter whether I use rubber grommets or fan isolators rom Silicon Acoustics? I would assume th...
